Hello there!
(Did I mention, I love to cook?)
So anyways, this jar is my 'good moments jar'.
In this jar, I write down (when I can remember) all the good things and people I have encountered. When I'm feeling really low, I like to pull out my jar and remind myself that there are good times to look back on and forward to! (Is it cheesy? but it's true.)
Read How-To Before Starting Project!
So here's the how-to:
SUPPLIES:
SUPPLIES:
- 1 Jar with Lid (Or as many as you'd like to create!)
- Set of Paint Brushes
- Set of Paints (I used Acrylics)
- Water
- Mod Podge Matte & Spray Sealer
- Tissue Paper/Magazine Clippings/etc
- Paper Punches (optional, but recommended for cuteness)
- tweezers (recommend)
INSTRUCTIONS:
- clean jar- inside & outside; taking front label off (if there is one). Using goo gone or hot water can help get rid of sticky residue. Let dry.
- if you are using magazine clippings and tissue paper (I did for the lid), take paintbrush and lightly dip in water and then mod podge. (do not soak brush.)
- take a pair of tweezer and place clippings/deco paper punches on desired spot. carefully mod podge over clippings/deco paper.
- don't be scared. The mod podge IS white but it'll turn clear. Deep breath.
- (tip: You can brush mod podge mixture on clippings and then place them on the jar as well. Some people prefer mod podge before and after. This might be harder with tiny pieces of clippings, etc.)
- let it dry. apply second coat.
- spray with mod podge sealer. (it will help with the stickiness so don't skip this step).
- as for the paint, all I did was squirt the paint all over the inside of the jar and shook!
- let it dry and spray inside with sealer as well!
Here's how I did my lid. I took sparkled tissue paper and used mod podge to paste it to the lid. I also used a Martha Stewart paper punch of a flower and put it on the lid as well after I painted it silver to match the flecks of color.
NOTICE:
JARS CAN BE USED TO STORE THOUGHTS- BOTH GOOD AND BAD, FLOWERS, PENS, SECRETS,
& MORE.
AND YOU ARE FINISHED!
